RV Hosting: Why would I want too?

UpClose RV

As our culture has shifted how we travel, vacation, and even work, we have seen a significant rise in RVs on the road. All those RVs need a place to park for the night. The problem is…campgrounds are full, certain stores will no longer allow RVers to park for the night in their parking lot, and what spots are left have had the prices jacked up.

Maybe you would like to meet new people without having to travel yourself, help others out who have found themselves in limbo because of the housing market, make some new friends, share a little piece of this beautiful world that is your own, or bring in a little income to help pay your bills or mortgage. RV Hosting encompasses all of this and more.

For myself, the biggest draw has been helping another person out. I know when I went on my little trip with the children last week, it was the people who helped that made our trip more memorable; a friend loaned me gear and supplies, a food vendor gave us a discount, we were gifted a national park pass, and a family on the beach gave the children a boogie board to ride the waves.

I think Mr. Rogers hit the nail on the head when he said: “All of us, at some time or other, need help. Whether we’re giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world. That’s one of the things that connects us as neighbors—in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver.”

With the distancing and loneliness many of us have experienced, I feel we could all use some old-fashioned neighborly love and encouragement.

Don’t you agree?
